Lochaline Harbour Sauna

A proper sauna in a beautiful location, tended by the friendly harbor master Alistair. When I stopped by on an October Wednesday afternoon it was booked up for the day, so I made a booking for 2 pm the following day. He had it nicely roasting by the time I showed up. Slots are an hour long but there was no one booked for the following hour so he suggested I could take my time to savor it. I had the place to myself, and the salty loch is mere steps from the sauna so I availed myself of the unique cold plunge opportunity several times. There is also a cold plunge tub just outside the sauna door for the less adventurous. There are showers and toilets at the harbor office, as well as laundry machines. I left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. A great way to reset on a long cycle trip!
